“To develop a culture of care is our main endeavor, and we work with the entire Steinmont Public School community to give each child our very best and help them equip themselves to face this world with passion and grit.”
The Career Guidance and Counseling Department at Steinmont Public School established in 2010 when counseling was still a new term in our society. Steinmont Public School is an IELTS and SAT centre. Students are to take these aptitude tests required for their university applications.
Career counseling aids students to recognize their strengths and values, and they guided accordingly by administering standardized aptitude tests and helping them make the right choice of subjects for their higher education and careers. Parents are welcome to meet the counselors twice a year in person during the Parent Teachers’ meet or with appointment to discuss the subject combinations and career choices of their children.
Besides career counseling, due emphasis is laid on personal counseling to support the emotional health of our students. The Steinmont Public School Counseling team comprises four Counselors who cater to the well-being of students in our residential school setting. The Counselors act as facilitators and students are encouraged to speak their mind, and let out their feelings and emotions without interruption. This helps students introspect, which enables the Counselor to guide them to handle the matter on their own. However, personal guidance provided whenever required. Students helped to identify their learning styles and further guided if they need additional learning support from teachers or specialists.
